Tomo
This identity is part of a color study involving the organic form of flint corn. Studies were first made using gouache and then re-created on the computer. A spiral element was added to experiment with how some colors push space while others make an object feel flat. Finally, as a part of the assignment, the corn had to be placed in an application. I made an imaginary Japanese natural foods company called Tomo to make a play on words; the Japanese word for corn is tomorokoshi and the word for friend is tomodachi. Thereafter I designed packaging and stationery to be used by the company.
